Mary Lohan’s body of work, ‘Sea’, at the Taylor Galleries, was inspired by her time at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation on the north coast of Mayo. The artist found new stimulus for her painting there, exploring the area around Ballycastle, immersing herself in the landscape. For Lohan, depicting the coastline and water is a way to explore colour and texture and to experiment with lines and marks.
