In ‘Ancestral Biology’ at the Custom House Studios + Gallery, Emma Bourke and Fiona Byrne explore how plant knowledge travels through cuttings and seeds, echoing how craft skills are passed down by touch and relationship – embodied traditions often preserved by women. Bourke’s sculptural glassworks examine ethnobotany and the medicinal uses of wild plants, while Byrne’s works link craft and ecology.
