‘Riband’ at Cahir Arts presents paintings by Pauline Flynn, inspired by a collection of military medal ribbons in Limerick Museum. These works on canvas are a departure from the artist’s previous work on Japanese paper but continue her interest in geometrical shapes informed by Japanese aesthetic principles. Flynn’s process is open to chance, allowing unexpected shifts and perceptions of depth to emerge.
