Two Irish artists take part in the 2025 Liverpool Biennial of Contemporary Art, which is centred on the theme ‘Bedrock’. Alice Rekab takes their own mixed-race Irish identity as a starting point from which to explore experiences of race, place and belonging. Isabel Nolan’s practice incorporates sculptures, paintings, textile works, photographs, writing and works on paper to probe humanity’s fear of mortality and deep need for connection.
