Paul Hughes’ ‘I Am Here & I Am Unwaiting’ at the Irish Arts Center in New York unites four of the artist’s large-scale paintings inspired by the land, seas, skies and light of Ireland. Hughes believes that no painting or series of works exists in isolation; rather, each interacts with what comes before and after, resulting in a dialogue between work that allows the collective to function as a single body of art.
