The Courthouse Arts Centre in Tinahely, presents a new series of portraits by artist Rod Coyne entitled ‘1916 Calendar – Centenary Portrait Exhibition’, remembering the key faces of the Easter Rising. Using a palette of vivid colours, Coyne seeks to unify the portraits, drawn from a series of historic photographs, underlining how the protagonists of the Rising were bound together in common purpose.
