My work explores the mechanics of power, geopolitical narrative, and human ambition through the lens of institutional bureaucracy. Inspired by the ISTD brief "Power," my ongoing project constructs an immersive, alternate reality that investigates how authority is established, projected, and maintained through the ultimate theater of competition: space exploration. I am deeply inspired by the visual language of the space age and the political ideologies that drive it. By examining historical rivalries, such as the Cold War tensions between the Soviet Union and the USA over Sputnik-1 and Apollo 11. Also, modern, privatized spectacles like the dynamic between SpaceX and NASA, my work highlights how space has always been a stage for demonstrating dominance. By adopting the strict, authoritative aesthetics of classified dossiers, archival folders, and scientific reports, I examine how information is controlled, presented, and ultimately utilized by those in power to shape public perception. Ultimately, my work invites the viewer to step into the role of an archivist or an investigator. By presenting these speculative designs as tangible, historical artifacts, I aim to challenge our inherent trust in institutional authority and encourage a deeper questioning of history, truth, and humanity's enduring obsession with what lies just beyond the edges of our understanding.
