My work uses expanded painting to express my curiosity and confusion at humanity's place within the concept of 'nature'. My show 'As Above So Below' featured in NCAD Works 2026, was heavily influenced by the theories of Raymond Williams. In his essay 'Ideas of Nature', Williams argued that since humans are part of nature, all form of human activity, creation, and behaviour should be deemed 'natural'. I treated my studio as habitat and each outcome, whether that be a 'finished piece' or a 'by - product' as a natural object. The constructs and constraints of exhibiting in terms of feminine expression as well as creative expression were, and still are of particular interest to me.I created an uncanny, painted world by featuring the sky, the earth and the sea in my installation 'A Triptych of Blankets'. 'Sky Blanket', 'Picnic Blanket', and 'Ocean Blanket', worked together to create the focal point of the exhibition. The installation is surrounded by oil paintings, as well as digital and sculptural components to champion research and process as well as more finalised works.
