I create contemporary jewellery that explores the relationship between material, memory, and embodied experience. Drawing on my background as an Irish dancer, I investigate the repetition, endurance, and resilience that exist beneath the polished surface of performance. My work is rooted in personal experience while exploring broader themes of cultural identity, tradition, and the physical demands placed on the body. I combine traditional silversmithing techniques with digital technologies, including Rhino CAD, 3D printing, laser cutting, and laser etching. Sterling silver and leather are central to my practice, as I am interested in the contrast between the permanence and precision of metal and the tactile, responsive qualities of leather. Through experimentation with these materials, I create sculptural jewellery that captures movement and translates choreography into wearable forms. Research is an essential part of my process. I draw from personal experience, historical research, movement studies, and material exploration, allowing each piece to evolve through making and experimentation. I see jewellery as a way of preserving stories, transforming memory and movement into objects that invite reflection and encourage a deeper engagement with the body and the experiences it carries.
