As an interdisciplinary artist my practice explores relationships between material, memory and care. I am interested in how environments are shaped through both human intervention and natural processes, and how artistic practice can create more attentive and meaningful ways of engaging with the world around us. My work, Ag Seasamh an Fhóid, wishes to explore the interconnected relationship between industry and ecology. I draw from satellite imagery and forms of mapping to explore landscapes altered by industrial processes, particularly along the Shannon Estuary. Materiality plays a central role in my work, allowing me to physically engage with the landscapes I investigate while reflecting on broader environmental aspects. My practice asks how we might develop more conscious and reciprocal relationships with the land through acts of making, tracing and attention.
