Architects of Disaster (Thesis in Studio) (2023)The aim of this performance piece was to verbalise the visual discourse within my thesis, "Italian fascist modernist design and typography and the relationship between Ailtirí na hAiséirghe and modernism". I wanted to show how design is not neutral and discourse free. The thesis was a close examination of how modernist aesthetics were instrumentalised to develop a dominant right wing discourse by the little know Irish fascist group Ailtirí na hAiséirghe in 1940s Ireland.I am a graduate visual communicator based in Dublin. At TU Dublin I developed skills around design principles, typography, video editing, product design and logo design among many others. I have a particular interest in developing brand identity and campaigns that communicate a social message.
