My work revolves around a self interrogation of a distortion and corruption of self image into sculptural pieces of work through glass and ceramic. Visually entangling the viscerality of body horror with a gentle beauty. Amorphous, corporeal forms that represent the most inner vulnerability, exercised from the body and made physical. I combine techniques from various disciplines, including, glass kiln casting, lampworking and hand building ceramics to create this work. An emphasis on craftsmanship is vital to my practice as the expansion and refinement of my skills fuels my motivation to continue to produce work that challenges my abilities. Having taken inspiration from the writings of Jenny Hval and William S. Burroughs, the films of David Cronenberg and further horror media such as Bloodborne and Berserk, narrowing in on what separates the self from the body and where one draws that line.
