Who I am as an artist? Do you know what it takes to be one? I'm exploring if I actually am creative or do I pretend to be by subconsciously imitating creative traits. Finding my motivation to make and making work that I enjoy. My work represents the aggressive and heavy reflection I took out on myself, breaking down and realising that everything I had ever made before, I did to impress others because I wanted an ego boost. I confronted a cycle of creating without conviction, overcoming the desire for impressiveness over meaning and praise over purpose. It reflects on my own distinction between knowing how to teach art and truly being an artist.
