Every life on this earth tells its own unique story, begging to be told, to be remembered. While telling every single story out there would be impossible, my work presents a homage to life and death. This work is influenced by my experience of life, grief, and memory, and explores how life and death interact with one another. “Лукомо́рье”, pronounced in english as Lukomorya, is the opening poem to a literary fairy tale by A.S. Pushkin, and establishes that the story was told to the narrator by a wise cat from the magical place of Lukomorya, where fairy tales come to life. Using this as a storytelling vehicle, this short film places the viewer as a visitor to the wise cat, hearing tales of a dear friend's story. It is an exploration into how life and death go hand in hand, and that while death is unknown, life can be whatever you make it.
