I am a Dublin based artist and textile designer, recently graduated from NCAD. Working across weave, knit, print and collage, my work draws inspiration from the textures, colours and material history of urban environments. My recent collection 'Urban Fabric' explores Dublin's surfaces, translating the city's visual landscape into textiles. By combining sublimation print with a range of fibres, I create layered fabrics that reflect the depth and complexity of the spaces that inspired them. Colour also plays a central role in my work. The vibrant hues of spray paint, construction signs and advertisements are balanced with more muted, weathered greys of the city streets, creating a contemporary palette that is also informed by the actions of Dubliners. My practice is driven by experimentation, developing and combining techniques and materials to create more interesting outcomes.
