An exhibition of works from the past decade by Stephen Lawlor, titled ‘The Sublime Divine’, is at the Oliver Sears Gallery. The artist describes these paintings as a ‘loosely assembled’, informal analysis of Old Master paintings from the 14th to the 19th centuries. In these works, Lawlor finds an ancient vision of the world, a refined and eclectic echo in the history of painting.
