MART curators Matthew Nevin and Ciara Scanlan have an exhibition of contemporary Irish art at the Arena 1 Gallery, Santa Monica, entitled ‘Destroy these Walls’ as part of the ongoing ‘Activating Pangea’ exhibition series. Working with the concepts of risk, political agitation, and ephemerality, work by Aiobheann Greenan, James L Hayes, Katherine Nolan, Margaret O’Brien, Steven Maybury, and Terence Erraught will be shown. The artists have created works that challenge the limitations of the gallery space, and which are also politically engaged, seeking to show the relevance of contemporary art to society.
