More than 4,600 people have signed the Appeal to Save the Beit Paintings, though we have not yet persuaded the Trustees of the Beit Foundation of the error in their ways. But they seem to be coming around. The big factor preventing the postponement of the sale now seems to be the fee that has to be paid to Christies. Surely that can be negotiated.

Please keep the signatures coming.

We hope to top 5,000 before the weekend.

Perhaps there is a magic number that will finally get through to Russborough?

It could be 5001.
