Stephen McKenna’s ‘Perspectives of Europe, 1980-2014’ comes to the Dublin City Gallery the Hugh Lane from the Middlesborough Institute of Modern Art. Featuring work from throughout McKenna’s career, the exhibition includes landscapes, cityscapes, and studies of trees, which chart the artist’s responses to living and working in a number of European cities. These paintings and drawings reflect not only the cities, the landscapes, the people and the artefacts of the various countries, but also their history and the contents of their museums.
