In ‘Distant Echoes’ at the Market Place Theatre and Arts Centre, Mark Magee revisits the urban landscapes of 1970s Lurgan via montage and social realism. Weaving together childhood memory, cultural identity and the political tensions of the Troubles, Magee reimagines familiar streets as layered palimpsests populated by figures from pop culture in a show that examines nostalgia, trauma and the collective imagination.
