‘A Story of Revolutions’ is an exhibition of digital artwork and painting currently on show at Triskel Christchurch in Cork by French artist Patrick Altes. The exhibition explores representation, diaspora, and transition within the context of the colonization of the Algerian Revolution. Drawing on his own experience of diaspora, Altes explores the ambivalent notion of birthright, and our often ambivalent attitudes about belonging, dispossession and migration in a deeply personal and subjective exploration of identity. The exhibition is the culmination of a one-year Leverhulme Trust residency by Altes at the University of Portsmouth.
