So it’s open, at last. Dublin Contemporary 2011: the biggest ever contemporary art show in Dublin; the grandchild of Rose, which it has instantly outgrown; an international extravaganza designed to catapult Dublin aloft amongst the literally hundreds of biennales worldwide, or the curiously colourless, odourless show-titles that inspire such reverence in Europe: Manifesta, or more importantly, Documenta, the quinquennial template on which Dublin Contemporary 2011 (DC2011) is partly based.
