‘Self-Determination: A Global Perspective’ is a museum-wide exhibition at IMMA that focuses on the new nation-states that emerged in the wake of World War I. The exhibition explore the role of art and artists in the expression of national identities, nation-building and statecraft. It features a range of Irish and international works, both modern and contemporary, that illuminate the shared experiences of the new states – including Ireland, Finland, Estonia, Poland, Ukraine, Turkey and Egypt.
