Martin McCann aspires to paint flawed insignificance, drawing on the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, which champions the beauty of imperfection, the transient and the incomplete. In an exhibition of works at Rathfarnham Castle, McCann brings together personal photographs and mixed-media paintings incorporating cold wax, oil paint and collage.
