In her exhibition ‘Returning/ Heritage’ at dlr LexIcon, Maeve McCarthy uses painting, drawing, film and installation to explore the quiet imprints of place, memory and personal history. Drawing on a maternal lineage that runs from Co Down to Sandycove, the artist reflects on the spaces that shape identity, revisiting gardens, houses, once-familiar routes, and reimagines them as sites of memory and reflection.
