‘Turning Heads: Rubens, Rembrandt and Vermeer’ at the National Gallery of Ireland features work by Dutch and Flemish artists of the 16th and 17th centuries who were exponents of the ‘tronie’ – a playful painting of a head. Organised in partnership with the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp, the exhibition includes Rubens’ Study of an Old Woman and Vermeer’s Girl With a Red Hat.
