Drawing inspiration from Romanticism and traditional Japanese landscape painting, Jane Rainey’s work expresses a longing for an escape into nature. Her exhibition at the Molesworth Gallery is inspired by the Nara Ebon painted manuscripts at the Chester Beatty and feature images that evoke the feeling of standing on an ocean edge, with new worlds on the horizon.
