Alan Phelan’s exhibition at the Molesworth Gallery continues his RGB investigations inspired by the work of John Joly’s screen colour photography process. Over the past six years, Phelan has revived this forgotten process and created unique illuminated photographs and now hybrid screens that use the geometries from other, similar processes. Phelan’s work playfully inserts the stripes of the Joly image into visual histories.
