Helen Richmond’s ‘Tonte Tíre’ (‘Ground Waves’) at Siamsa Tíre, Tralee explores a connection to place through music and colour. Richmond has worked in collaboration with Peter Mullarkey from the Binneas archive of traditional music to create a colour notation system, enabling her to ‘paint’ a tune. The work is presented in the circular gallery space of Siamsa Tíre to create a sense of cyclical and linear time.
