Since 1971, the Listowel Writers Festival has brought together writers and audiences through a series of innovative events. This year, a limited edition portfolio titled ‘Hope’ is a collaboration between the Festival and the Stoney Road Press which includes new work by Eavan Boland, Anne Enright, Jennifer Johnston, Brendan Kennelly and Colm Tóibín, accompanied by limited edition prints by Donald Teskey. Also in June, the Immrama Festival of Travel Writing takes place in Lismore, Co Waterford featuring Kim Phuc Phan Thi, survivor of the Vietnam war, and BBC correspondent Fergal Keane. Turtle Bunbury, Peter Murtagh, Donald Brady and Jim O’Malley also feature in the festival.
