Ann Mulrooney profiles the practice of Nuala O’Donovan, winner of the inaugural Crafts Council of Ireland/Irish Arts Review Emerging Makers Award

The Irish Arts Review and the Crafts Council of Ireland are delighted to announce that ceramicist Nuala O’Donovan is the first recipient of the inaugural Emerging Makers Award. The winner was unanimously selected from the submissions for Breaking Out (a new annual exhibition of emerging makers which runs in the Craft Council of Ireland’s National Craft Gallery until 31 January 2009), by judges Mike Fitzpatrick, Director, Limerick City Gallery, Ann Mulrooney, Curator, Breaking Out and Sonya Perkins, Chief Executive, Irish Arts Review.
