For ‘The Last Balkan Cowboy’ at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, Dragana Jurišić followed in the footsteps of cult Yugoslavian fi lm director Hari Džekson. Through a series of photographs taken in former Yugoslavia, Jurišić mythologises Džekson’s legacy in the aftermath of the Balkan War, drawn to the symbolism of a wandering outsider roaming the landscape for opportunity, romance and adventure, while shadowed by the reality of migrant life.
