In his series of colour photographs ‘Common Place’, Eoin O Conaill proposes a kind of topographical survey of Ireland, revealing a landscape and an imagination that is suspended and perhaps deferred. As a grouping of unsentimental prospects, the photographs suggest a sense of ennui and repressed energy.
