Tucked into the chancel of the Honan Chapel and overshadowed by the stunning Harry Clarke windows which dominate it, the St John window has been largely ignored in commentary. That it has been variously attributed and its subject matter frequently mis-described as scenes of the Passion taken from the Gospel of St John are testament to its status as the Cinderella of the Chapel windows. As the centenary of the Honan Chapel approaches in 2016 it seems apposite to give the St John window a closer look.
