Stephanie McBride navigates questions of context and place in Anne Tallentire’s current series of work, currently on view at IMMA

Anne Tallentire’s work plots a strange and subtle course through the residual and the everyday, both in her solo projects and in her ‘work-seth/tallentire’ collaborations. Her first major show in Ireland, ‘This, and other things’ at IMMA brings together previous work including Instances (1999) – shown here for the first time since its installation at the Venice Biennale when Tallentire represented Ireland – and Manifesto 3 (instead of partial object) (2004), as well as new work and ongoing projects. Her work involves video, text, performance, photography and film, and this latest exhibition offers a valuable insight into the commitment to process at the core of her practice.
