Driven by Distraction

Three large artworks by Diana Copperwhite comprise her current show, Driven by Distraction, at the Royal Hibernian Academy. The first work encountered is something of a surprise in departing from expectations of the artist’s work. Entitled Shapeshifter, it is painted directly onto the south wall of the entrance foyer and will be obliterated at the conclusion of the show. Copperwhite found this arrangement liberating as it facilitated experiment in the knowledge of its ultimate erasure.
